Packing/Crating services cost consists of combination of hourly rate, number of packers, time and materials used in the process of securing shipment. The cost varies depending on how much packing of items was done by the customer. Some items: books, linens, tools and other non-breakable may be packed by customers to control the cost. However, all expensive electronics, appliances, china, glass furniture, mirrors, crystal, art and collectibles must be done by professionals.

Proper packing by a trained packer using specially designed cartons and materials is crucial to a safe move. Packers should be scheduled a day or to prior to the move day. However, customers that decide to pack themselves, it is never too soon to start. While packing yourself may save money, moving insurance will normally will not take liability to damages to items that you packed yourself.

Be present when your goods are packed. An inventory of your goods will be made (for long distance relocations or goods going into movers warehouse). It is very important to resolve any disagreements regarding the conditions of the items (scratches, necks, dents, etc.) prior to signing inventory form.
